Caitlin Velasquez, 3rd Grade

Hello! My name is Caitlin velasquez. I grew up as an Army brat and have lived in many different states, from California to Kentucky. Every time we moved one thing was always constant: a new school year full of possibilities. I became inspired by each teacher to take on this profession because I believe that it is truly my calling. I am a recent graduate of the University of North Alabama with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. I cannot wait to see what my year at St. Johns has in store.

About My Classroom: The classroom I am trying to establish is a place to be creative, make mistakes and learn to be a better person. I implement instruction in a variety of different groupings and I believe that instruction should revolve around the students’ individual needs. I have an open minded philosophy of teaching, I believe that I am here to facilitate my students learning and also to share and shape their faith life. Each student is treated with equity and as an individual in my classroom. Education is a means of bettering yourself and I believe that every child should have the opportunity to better themselves.
