Robin McConnell, 5th Grade

Teaching is my passion. I am so excited to work with you and your child this year. It is going to be a year filled with fun, learning, and adventure.

I have lived in the Harvest area most of my life. I went to Sparkman High School and graduated from UAH in 2004, then Athens State in 2012. I am the oldest of 6- 2 sisters and 3 brothers. My oldest sister just had her third baby, my oldest brother is attending Auburn this fall on a full scholarship (War Eagle), and the other three will graduate high school over the next three years.

I am married to my wonderful husband, Joe. He is NOT from Harvest. If you are familiar with Journey, I am just a small town girl …who married the city boy, born and raised in South Detroit… (I’ll give you a minute to finish singing in your head). We love to go visit family and even take in a football game when we get the chance (Go BLUE!) We have four kids- Ethan who is in 5 th grade, Brendan and Brody who are in 3 rd grade, and Riley Claire who is in Kindergarten- all here at St. John’s. They take up most of my free time, but some hobbies that I enjoy are running, (glutenfree!) baking, and traveling.

Before teaching at St. John’s, I taught 5 th grade ELA at Harvest Elementary, and before that, Kindergarten in Limestone County. I absolutely LOVE teaching 5 th grade! It is my mission to instill a love for learning in my students. I attempt to teach with a passion for my subject so that my students develop a desire to become life-long learners. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. It is important to keep communication open between us and I would love to talk to you whenever you feel the need. I look forward to a great year together!
