I am so thankful that God has entrusted me to help teach and care for your children. I attended both Catholic schools and public schools while growing up, and am very appreciative of the spiritual and educational value of Catholic schools. I am excited to be able to teach in Catholic school. I began teaching at St. Johns when it opened, and this is my 20th year in Catholic education. I have been blessed to teach a variety of grades at St. John’s from first grade to middle school, and currently third grade. I always seem to find myself teaching in a “transitional” grade, which I find to be the most rewarding since children experience so much growth in these transitional grades. I obtained my B.S in Elementary Education (and my minor in special education) at Mississippi University for Women. I obtained my M. Ed in elementary education at the University of North Alabama. In addition, I am an Orton-Gillingham tutor which requires specialized training for students who struggle with reading and language.
Away from school, my hobbies include writing, reading, and photography. I also enjoy travel, and have led several groups of children on summer travel in foreign and state-side programs through People to People Student Ambassadors.
I am blessed with a beautiful family. My husband, Kenneth, is a contracts manager for Torch Technologies. My oldest son, Caleb, is a senior who will graduate with honors at St. John Paul II this year. He attended St. John’s school from K-8th grade. My youngest children, Gabbi and Caden, currently attend St. Johns school. Gabbi is in middle school, and Caden is a fourth grader.
