I am thrilled to be here to serve you as the St John the Baptist’s school community’s counselor. I am originally from Tucson, Arizona. I attended Catholic Schools from K-12th grade. I am an alumnus from University of Arizona, Virginia Commonwealth University and Argosy University, Sarasota. Our family is a military family that has experienced many transitions and moves over the years. My husband and I have three children (ages 13, 11, and 6, two boys and a girl) two of which attend St John the Baptist. As a parent, I hope to bring an understanding to the challenges that parents face along with my knowledge and insight acquired through my education and professional experiences. I enjoy growing in faith, time with friends and family, physical fitness, and travel.
I have counseling experience in public, private and within the Catholic Schools communities. I have worked in Huntsville City and Madison City Schools ranging from K-12 grades. I hold a Doctorate of Education in Counseling Psychology; I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) for the state of Alabama and National Certified Counseling Certificate (NBCC).
In the classroom setting my goal is to provide students educational and practical lessons geared towards teaching students social, moral and problem solving skills while integrating our faith and biblical teachings. Our Professional School Counseling and Guidance Program offers individual student coaching, parent and student support services, consultation, and small groups. We use a school wide program called Second Step at every grade. I feel blessed that God called me to this vocation. Please contact me via the school or school email at firstname.lastname@example.org
