New Student Information
School hours are 7:55 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. We offer Before Care beginning at 6:30 a.m. and After Care until 6:00 p.m. at a cost of $2.80 per hour. There is a registration fee of $110.00 per student each year. Tuition for parishioners is: 1 child-$3,400.00/yr., 2 children-$5,850.00/yr., 3 or more children- $7,050/yr. Tuition is $5,850/yr. per child for non-parishioners. Students are also required to wear uniforms purchased exclusively from Dennis Uniforms.
The following items are required for registration:
· Complete New Student Application and Parent/Guardian Information Form
· Original State Birth Certificate-a copy will be made and you will keep the original. Students entering Kindergarten or First grade must be 5 or 6 years of age, respectively, on or before September 1st of the enrollment year.
· Social Security Card-a copy will be made and you will keep the original.
· Original Blue Card-Alabama Certificate of Immunization-must show that the second measles shot has been received. For students entering Kindergarten, First or Second grade for the school year beginning August 2004 you must also have received the chicken pox immunization or have documentation from your doctor stating that the student has already had chicken pox.
· A transcript of grades for students entering 1st – 8th grade. A copy of the most recent report card is sufficient for registration.
· Parishioner Tuition Rate Application – available in the office if you wish to receive parishioner tuition rates.
Students are required to wear uniforms purchased from Dennis Uniforms except on announced “no uniform days”. If there is a problem, parents should contact the principal. The school reserves the right to keep students out of class if the uniform regulations are not followed. All shirts are to be tucked in.
The uniforms are as follows: (* Indicates purchase from Dennis Uniforms required.)
Jumpers* -- plaid, grades K-4 (navy knit gym shorts purchased from Dennis Uniforms must be worn underneath)
Skirts* -- plaid, grades 5-8. (navy knit gym shorts purchased from Dennis Uniforms must be worn underneath)
Skorts (Culottes)* -- plaid (only plaid is available). Only the longer skort is allowed (no more than 3 inches above the knee), grade 5-8.
Shorts* -- navy walking shorts for boys (K-8), plaid or navy for girls, or khaki for 5th - 8th grade boys.
Slacks/Pants* -- navy for boys and girls (K-8), or khaki for 5th - 8th grade.
Blouses* -- white, round collar, long or short sleeve (for girls grades 1-4).
Oxford Shirt* -- white, button down collar, long or short sleeve (for boys grades 1-8 and girls grades 5-8).
Polo Shirt* -- green or white, long or short sleeve (for boys and girls grades K-8) with St. John’s logo.
Sweaters* -- optional; navy; cardigan, vest or pull-over styles. If a sweater is worn in class it must be purchased from Dennis Uniforms.
Belts* -- optional - but must be uniform if worn. (2 styles)
Shoes -- non-marking athletic shoes; no sandals or boots (not even on no uniform days); we recommend white, navy or black.
Socks -- navy or white, no stripes or wording
Tights -- navy or white
Gym uniform* -- gray shirt with logo, navy knit gym shorts - required for grades three through five; No P.E. uniforms will be worn in Kindergarten - 2nd grade however, girls need to order the shorts to wear under their jumpers.
Sweatshirts/sweatpants -- optional as a winter P.E. uniform only. Not to be worn in the classroom as a uniform, does not need to be purchased from Dennis Uniforms – must be navy blue or hunter green.
Hair accessories - for girls, as desired (must not be a distraction to the student or the class)
Jewelry--no excessive or distracting jewelry of any kind. Stud earrings only. Earrings must be in the earlobes only. No “cuff” earrings allowed. Earrings on boys and dangling earrings on girls are not allowed.
Facial hair – on boys is not allowed.
