In addition to raising money through ticket sales and sponsorships, the Benefit Gala features both silent and live auctions which contribute a large percentage of the funds raised during the evening. Both auctions depend on donated items to make them a success. Donations are given by both local merchants and by the families of Saint John’s students.
Donations contributed by both local merchants and families are put together in auction “baskets.” These baskets usually follow a theme and are a great way to put multiple donations together to make one great silent auction item.
If you would like more information on family donations, please read the Silent Auction FAQ. Or, if you are looking for ideas, we have developed a list of silent auction ideas.
Families may begin bringing donations to the school beginning January 15. Please fill out the family donation form and bring it with your donation to the tent which will be set up to accept donations every Friday morning during car line. Or drop your donation at the school office. All donations are due by Friday, February 12, 2010.
All donations made to the Saint John’s Benefit Gala are tax deductible at the item’s fair market value. Donations are accepted in the form of items to be sold at the auction, materials used to build the baskets or cash donations which will be used to help support the Gala wherever needed.
