The faculty and staff of St. John the Baptist Catholic School would like to thank you for a wonderful year. May your family receive many graces and blessings during the summer!

We will see you in August!! 

Last day of school is May 28, 2010 with a 12:00 dismissal (NO AFTERCARE)
Students may be out of uniform Thursday & Friday 

End of Year Bills:  Parents, all school bills must be paid in full before final report cards are issued.  If you have any questions regarding your accounts, please contact Lisa at 722-0772.  Thank you.

Final BASC and lunch bills will be emailed to you by June 2.  If you pay by draft, the draft date will be Friday, June 4^th.

Student Medications:  Please pick up all student medications (oral medications, inhalers, etc.) from the school clinic office by Friday, May 28.  Any medications not claimed by Friday, June 4 will be discarded per proper medication disposal procedures.

Lost and Found:  Please claim all items by Friday, May 28.  Any unclaimed items will be donated to charity.

St. John’s VBS:  1 more week left to register! Registration ends on May 31^st.  Hope to see you on our HIGH SEAS EXPEDITION! 

Ladybug Rosary/summer:    The Ladybug Rosary group will continue to meet during the summer on Tuesdays at 10am in the church.  Children are especially welcome during these summer meetings.  We will meet each Tuesday except the week of VBS.  See you on June 1^st! 

PTO SCRIP CONTEST AND SUMMER SCRIP SALES:  The end-of-the year SCRIP contest results are in and the winners are:  1^st Place goes to Ms. Kaufer’s  Kindergarten Class, with a tie for 2^nd place by Mrs. Mackey’s 2^nd Grade Class and Mrs. Hervias’s 8^th Grade Class.  Ms. Kaufer’s Class will be receiving an ice cream party sometime during this last week of school and Ms. Kaufer will receive a $25 SCRIP card of her choice.  The 2^nd and 3^rd place classrooms will receive popsicle treats sometime this week. 

The PTO thanks all of you for your wonderful support of our SCRIP program during this past school year.  Please remember that SCRIP will be still be available this summer, beginning in June.  SCRIP On-Demand will be available on Sundays between 9:30 am and 11:30 am outside church.  SCRIP can also be ordered online during this time, with orders available for pick-up either on Sundays during On-Demand sales, or it will be available for pick-up in the school office during summer office hours. 

Here are some ideas to keep in mind with summer approaching:

• Buy Disney gift cards to get ready for that summer or Fall Break trip.
• Buy fast food gift cards in anticipation of those summer road trips!
• Hotel and Gas cards are available for a wide variety of places.
• Summer is the time for lots of home improvement projects.  So, buy Home Depot or Lowe’s gift cards.
• Barnes and Noble and/or Amazon are great places to purchase your kid’s summer reading materials.
• Stock up on Dennis Larose gift cards so that you can take advantage of those special promotions during the summer.

BOX TOPS & LABELS COMMITTEE NEWS:  CONGRATULATIONS to Ms. Omenski’s Kindergarten, Ms. Kaufer’s Kindergarten, Ms. Williams’ 1^st grade, Mrs. Martin’s 1^st grade, Mrs. Brown’s 2^nd grade, Mrs. Mackey’s 2^nd grade, Mrs. Bowie’s 3^rd grade, Mrs. Lauzon’s 3^rd grade, Mrs. Zoeller’s 4^th grade, Ms. Jones’ 5^th grade, Mrs. Lampton’s 5^th grade, Mrs. Havin’s 6^th grade, Mrs. Lones’ 6^th grade, Mrs. League’s 7^th Grade and Mr. Shepard’s 7^th grade!!!  These classes all earned popsicle parties by collecting 200+ Box Tops during our final Box Tops Classroom Collection Competition! 

THANK YOU for your continued and amazing support of the General Mills’ Box Tops for Education program, Campbell’s Labels for Education program, Tyson’s Project A+ program and Terracycle’s Juice Box Brigade!  Through your tremendous collection efforts these programs are successful at St. John’s School.   Please continue to clip and collect for these programs over the summer months.  Thank you!
