St John’s School will be participating in the Madison Street Festival this year. It is a great opportunity to connect with the community and show off our school and all the wonderful things it has to offer. The festival will be held Saturday, October 4th in downtown Madison. Volunteers (individuals or families!) are needed throughout the day to help man our booth. We would like to divide the day into two hour shifts: 8:00-10:00 (includes set-up), 10:00 – 12:00, 12:00 – 2:00, and 2:00 – 4:00 (includes tear down). If you are able to help or have any questions please contact the PR committee chair, Melanie Stoner, melanieas@hotmail.com. This can not happen without volunteer help! Please consider giving some time to represent our school at this fun-filled event!

2009 Benefit Gala
Plans for the 10th Annual Benefit Gala are moving along really well. To those of you who have already signed up to help, we thank you for volunteering to help. We are excited to work on this project with you. When we return from Fall Break we anticipate our planning to move to the next level. Look for Wednesday folder notes informing you about the plans and volunteer opportunities to help with this great event.
Corporate Sponsorships:
Marita Durham is the Team Leader for the Corporate Sponsorship Team. We would like to reach out to as many potential large donors as possible this year. We have very professional Sponsorship packets available to anyone who is interested in helping with this important Team. You can choose to contact your own company or family member yourself or one of our team members can contact the on your behalf. Contact Marita at jadehome@charter.net for more information.
Decorations Team:
Matt Smith is the Team Leader for our Decorations again this year. His team is off to a great start with fantastic ideas for our "Puttin' on the Ritz" theme. If you'd like to help with our dedicated decorations team please contact Matt Smith at drmatthewhsmith@gmail.com or join us our next meeting on Thursday, October 2, at 7:00pm in the school.
Donations Team Lead:
We have Team Leaders for most of the Gala teams, but are still searching for a Donations Team Leader for small business & family donations. This person is mainly responsible for organizing a dedicated team of volunteers to collect donations from various small businesses in the Madison, Huntsville and Athens areas, as well as our St. John's families. This team usually consists of a regular group of volunteers who travel the same routes year after year in bringing in wonderful donations for our silent and live auctions. Please let us know if you are interested in being our Team Leader or co-Leader.
Thank you!
