St.
John’s School Newsletter – August 13, 2008
Phone: 256-722-0772
Parents,
Just a few reminders as we get off to a great start!
If you would like to join your student for lunch, that will start
after Labor Day. Please call or e-mail (jcleary@stjohnb.com)l by
8:30 am.
Morning
Drop Off: Remember both options lead to the same place, the
cafeteria. Please notice if people behind you are backing up on
Hughes Rd. We want to keep students and parents safe!
Please
note your speed when approaching car lines and school should be very
slow: morning and afternoon. We would appreciate it if you were not
on your cell phone as you approach the actual pick up area in the
afternoon. Thanks to all who have worked to make traffic flow
smoothly!
All
absences for students will be excused with a note that has your
signature. While we appreciate the email notification, it is not
considered an acceptable form of excuse.
Art news :
Welcome
back to all students.
New this year:
-Eighth grade art students interested in high school art should
remember
that some teachers require examples of their work.
-Art folders with pockets & brads will be used for notes in grades
3-8.
-Legal size, pocket file folders will be used by all grades K-8.
They are a little longer.
“Expandable” is too big. Thanks! Gently used are fine too.
Each student will use this folder for storing their artwork in the
classroom.
This is a great way to review the work being done by a student all
year.
-Please check the Priebe class link on the St. John website.
The class
page is a great way to explore art as a family with Scholastic
resources.
St.
John’s Football Association is now accepting late football
registrations for children ages 5 – 13. There are many opening still
available for 5-6-7 year olds who wish to play flag or tackle
football. Please contact Keith Johnson for more information.

They are $40 each and can be purchased by sending a check payable
to St. John’s to Mrs. Lones. Please include the name and homeroom
of the child who should receive the yearbook.
